James
Dunnett Architects was established in 1983, based on experience in social
housing and in high quality residential work, particularly in the altering,
extending, and renovating of individual houses, often either listed
buildings or in conservation areas. Projects of this kind costing £300,000-£600,000
have been completed to a Grade1-listed Manor House in Dorset, a Grade2*
Georgian house in Westminster, and a Victorian stucco Villa in a Notting
Hill Conservation Area (winner of the 1994 Kensington & Chelsea Environment
Award for Restoration and Conversion). Small projects are also undertaken.
Renovation work is currently in progress on two listed 1960s tower blocks
in North and East London, designed originally by Ernö Goldfinger.
